FAQ

Frequently Asked Question

  • Is it too late to register?
    • No. Registration is open until the team is filled or 1st week in Aug.  Depends on which comes first.
  • When is the last day to register?
    • Registration is 1st come basis.  Once a football team reaches 25 players or a cheer squad reaches 20 participants, that team or squad is closed.

  •  Do players ever get cut?
    • NO! All players who sign up and come to practice will play on a team.

  •  What equipment do I need to buy?
    • Your child will need to get a pair of football cleats, practice pants, practice jersey, game socks, mouthpiece, protective cup and 7-piece pad set for pants. There may be other incidental items you wish your child to have.

  •  Do we have to buy all the equipment?
    • No. We provide a game jersey, game pant, and helmet. (Pant and helmet returned at end of season)

  • Are the coaches paid employees?
    • Our coaches are all volunteers who donate their time to help our kids. This entire program, from the people who help out on game day on up to the President, is run by volunteers who put in a great deal of personal time to make this program available to your children.

  •  The summers are hot!
    • It sure is! Coaches and parents are responsible for ensuring the players get plenty of water breaks, throughout the practice sessions.

  •  How much time is involved in football, per week?
    • During the summer….practice is 8 hrs a week (typically 2 hrs a day). Once school begins the practice times are dropped to 6 hrs per week. FAA understands what is required to be the best student possible and we try to ensure that football and cheerleading doesn’t interfere with school.

  •  When does the season begin and end?
    • The season begins in mid-July and could go into the third week of November.

  •  Can I help coach?
    • Parents interested in coaching must follow the same guidelines of coaches, background checks, first aid CPR, etc. We can always use good coaches to help develop our children.

  •  Can girls sign up to play football with the boys?
    • YES!

  • After I pay my registration fees are there any other fees involved?

    • Due to the nature of this sport, there are a large number of expenses that must be paid before the season even begins. We are not able to register any child without payment in full at registration time.
